Broken Lock Policy

A broken lock shall be defined as any altering, breaking, cutting and/or tampering with a lock used to secure a meter. The following actions shall be taken as the result of a customer breaking a lock.

First Offense

Item Fee
Replacement Lock
Pull Meter Fee
Inside Reconnection Fee
Outside Reconnection Fee
The service shall remain disconnected until such time that the outstanding account balance is paid as well as all other fees and charges.

Second Offense

A warrant is obtained and service disconnected at the tap. Customer will pay new tap fees in addition to the outstanding balance, any and all court costs and all other fees and charges assessed to the account. Service shall remain disconnected until all fees and charges are paid.
