Regular street sweeping occurs on about 80% of Gallatin’s 200 miles of paved streets within the city limits. Sweeping frequency is tied to accumulation of debris, density of population, and usage.
The street sweepers annually remove approximately 1,850 tons of debris, trash, and other harmful constituents that would have otherwise ended up in the storm drains, creeks, and eventually in the ocean.
Please bear with us as we perform street sweeping in residential neighborhoods. We attempt to avoid high traffic times and move as quickly as possible as we strive to keep our streets clean and free of debris.
To assist in efficient sweeping, please avoid parking along residential streets whenever possible.
