American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Classes will be held at the Gallatin Civic Center during the dates and times listed below.
All participants must be at least 15 years of age and able to complete a pre-course swimming test including a 300 yard swim of front crawl and breaststroke, a timed test of swimming to the deep end to pick up a brick off the bottom of the pool, and treading water for two minutes without the use of your hands.
On Monday, June 5th at 9 a.m. there will be a mandatory swim test that you must pass before finishing the rest of class. If you do not pass this portion, you cannot complete the rest of class for that session. There is a $10 non-refundable fee.
Certification is awarded only with successful completion of CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid, as well as a final skill and written test. The cost is $225 for the week, or you can take the CPR/AED portion for $75.
